Sheikh Kamal’s 74th birth anniversary observed in Gopalganj

Gopalganj district Awami League (AL) today observed the 74th birth anniversary of valiant Freedom Fighter, cultural personality Shaheed Captain Sheikh Kamal, the eldest son of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, in a befitting manner.

On the occasion, a discussion was held at the District Awami League office this morning with district Awami League president Mahabub Ali Khan in the chair.

District Awami League office secretary Elias Haque and Upazila Jubo League president Zaheed Mahmud Bapp, among others, spoke at the discussion.

Leaders and workers of District Awami League and its associate bodies were present.

District Awami League President Mahbub Ali Khan, General Secretary GM Shahabuddin Azam, and other leaders of district Awami League and associate bodies, among others, were present.

A special doa was offered seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of Sheikh Kamal, Bangabandhu and other martyrs who had to embrace martyrdom on the fateful August 15, 1975.

A special prayer was offered seeking longevity of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her family members.

Later, tree saplings were distributed on the occasion of Sheikh Kamal’s birth anniversary to make the tree planting campaign a grand success.

Sheikh Kamal was born on August 5, 1949 at Tungipara in Gopalganj, he was a former executive member of the central committee of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), the student wing of Awami League (AL).
