JASHORE, Two people were killed as a covered van crushed
them on the Jashore-Benapole Highway early today.
The deceased were identified as Nasiruddin, 62, a retired college teacher
hailed from Gatipara village under Benapole Port Thana and Ali Bax, 66, a
night guard of a local NGO.
Local people said the accident occurred around 5 am when they were crossing
the Highway to reach a mosque at Navaron. They were brought at Jashore
General Hospital where the duty-doctors declared them dead.
In-charge of Navaron Highway Police Camp Siddhartha Mollik confirmed the
matter.
