UML Leader Calls for Shift to Skill-Oriented Education

GHORAHI: CPN (UML) General Secretary Shankar Pokhrel has advocated for a transformative approach in the education system, emphasizing the need for skill-oriented learning. Speaking at the 67th anniversary of Shree Secondary School Rajhena in Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City-18, Pokhrel urged educational institutions to prioritize skills that better prepare students for the demands of the job market.

According to National News Agency Nepal, Pokhrel criticized traditional education methods, arguing they fall short in equipping students with the necessary competencies to thrive in modern employment landscapes. He suggested that schools incorporate technical education programs to address this gap.

Pokhrel underscored the importance of aligning educational curricula with market needs, thereby enhancing students’ employability. His remarks highlight a growing recognition of the importance of practical skills in education systems, particularly in response to evolving economic conditions and job market requirements.
