Kathmandu: United Nations Under Secretary-General and High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries, and Small Island Developing States Rabab Fatima, has paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli during the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs) today. The meeting highlighted ongoing discussions and initiatives concerning Nepal’s future development trajectory.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Permanent Representative of Nepal to the UN, Lok Bahadur Thapa, explained that the primary focus of the discussion was on accelerating Nepal’s preparations to graduate to the status of a developing country by 2026. The conversation underscored the strategic steps and measures needed for Nepal to achieve this transition within the stipulated timeframe.
The meeting was also attended by the Prime Minister’s Chief Advisor Bishnu Prasad Rimal, Foreign Ministry Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai, and Permanent Representative Thapa, among others. Their presence emphasized the collaborative efforts and commitment of various stakeholders in Nepal’s development journey.
