Art Workshop Showcases Mundum Trail to Boost Tourism


Temkemaiyung: Artists have captured the features of Mundum trail, which the government has declared one of the 100-must visit tourist destinations. Twenty national artists depicted the features of the Mundum trail through their artwork in a National Art Workshop organized at Temkemaiyung for its promotion.



According to National News Agency Nepal, the artists created paintings of the Red Panda seen in the Mundum trekking trail, Tayama Khiyama which is connected with the culture of the Kirant community, Chindo, and the traditional costume of the locals during the three-day workshop. Chairperson of Temkemaiyung rural municipality, Saroj Basnet, stated that the workshop aimed to develop, promote, and publicize the Mundum trekking route through painting.



The initiative also aims to establish the Mundum trekking route as a center for yoga and meditation, Basnet shared. The artworks created during the workshop are planned to be exhibited in Kathmandu.



The workshop concluded on Wednesday with the presence of the Chancellor of Nepal Academy of Fine Arts, Naradmuni Hartamchhali. Chancellor Hartamchhali expressed that the workshop would contribute to preserving art and culture while also promoting the Mundum trail.
