Home Ministry Unveils Bill on NGO Registration, Regulation, and Management

Kathmandu: The Home Ministry has introduced a bill aimed at amending and unifying the existing laws governing the registration, regulation, and management of non-governmental organizations (NGOs). This initiative is part of a broader framework designed to engage both stakeholders and the general public in the legislative process.

According to National News Agency Nepal, the bill is being pushed forward to address the necessity for a new law that will govern the registration and management of NGOs. The objective is to ensure that these organizations contribute effectively to social development by becoming more transparent, accountable, and responsible in their operations.

The move is part of a series of legal and policy reforms initiated by Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak since he took office. The ministry has invited public input on the proposed bill, allowing 15 days for stakeholders and citizens to provide their feedback.
