Minister Kharel Calls for Building Inclusive Nepal


Kathmandu: Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Jagdish Kharel, has called on everyone for their togetherness to build an inclusive Nepal. Inaugurating the Kulung language page in the Gorkhapatra daily amidst a programme at Gokarneshwor-3, Minister Kharel highlighted that a collective campaign could help Nepal enrich its inclusion. “Diversity in language, culture, and communities is a true identity of Nepal. So, the addition of the Kulung language in the Gorkhapatra publication is a significant contribution to it. It is imperative to nurture the inclusive campaign from respective places,” he stated.



According to National News Agency Nepal, the government is committed to reaching the doorsteps of all communities, as reflected by the attendance at this programme. The minister emphasized that preparations have intensified for the slated March 5 election to the House of Representatives, aiming to ensure good governance. “The government, formed with the support of the Gen Z movement, is poised to hold the HoR election on March 5 and pave the way for good governance,” reiterated the government spokesperson, adding that employment creation remains a priority.



Minister Kharel asserted that elections are a pillar of democracy that require further strengthening with good governance initiatives. On the occasion, Secretary at the Information Ministry, Radhika Aryal, noted that the inclusion of the Kulung language in the Gorkhapatra publication is a significant recognition for the Kulung community. She described it as a historic deed and urged the Gorkhapatra management and editors to make it worthy in the future.



Chairman of the Nepal Kirat Kulung Language and Culture Promotion Association, Chandra Singh Kulung, welcomed Minister Kharel by offering him a cultural costume, phega, at the programme. General Manager at Gorkhapatra Corporation, Lal Bahadur Airi, and Chief Editor Junar Babu Basnet also spoke at the event, pledging further initiatives for quality publication and credible journalism.
