President of Workers Party of Bangladesh Rashed Khan Menon today said the BNP-Jamaat doesn’t want to return to the constitution of 1972 as the constitution does not patronize corruption, terrorism and militancy.

“There is no similarity between BNP’s activities such as corruption, terrorism and militancy and the constitution of 1972…..The constitution of 1972 promotes secularism and equal rights to all the people in the country,” he said.

He made remarks while addressing a discussion organized by Bangladesh Lawyers Sangsad, Supreme Court unit at Johur Hossain Chowdhury auditorium of Jatiya Press Club here.

Proposing the incumbent government to revive the constitution of 1972, Menon said, “Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman made the constitution of 1972 but we could not protect it.”
