RSP and Bibeksheel Sajha Parties Unite to Strengthen Alternative Politics


Kathmandu: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and the Bibeksheel Sajha Party have officially united. The top leaders of both parties signed the unity declaration during a programme held at the City Hall in Kathmandu today.



According to National News Agency Nepal, the unity was formalized by the acting party president Dol Prasad Aryal and vice-president and coordinator of the High-level Dialogue Committee Dr Swarnim Wagle from the RSP, alongside Chairperson Samiksha Baskota and vice-chairman and coordinator of the Political Dialogue Committee Prakash Chandra Pariyar from the Bibeksheel Party. The leaders emphasized that this unity will enhance the campaign for alternative politics, focusing on transparency and good governance. A five-point agreement was reached as part of the merger.



The agreement includes documenting and recognizing the efforts of the late Ujwal Thapa and the Bibeksheel’s Campaign in advancing alternative politics grounded in integrity and values, while fully embracing the political principles and leadership of the RSP. Additionally, it was decided that following the merger, the party will retain the name Rastriya Swatantra Party and the election symbol will be a bell, as informed by the vice-chairman of the negotiation committee, Shishir Khanal. Leaders and supporters from both parties attended the announcement event.
